Donbas may face "various kinds of changes" for Russia

The situation will be held back by Moscow until the football tournament finishes, General Romanenko believes.
A Ukrainian military expert, Candidate of Military Sciences, Doctor of Technical Sciences, professor, former deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lt. Gen. (Rtd) Ihor Romanenko says the situation in temporarily occupied Donbas will remain stable until mid-summer. The Ukrainian General says the Kremlin is not interested in escalating the conflict in Donbas ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2018 Russia is hosting, according to Apostrophe. "At the same time, the other side constantly claims we are willing to use this period to start a full-scale operation or some other kept restrained  activity," the General said. "That is, the situation will be held back by Moscow until the tournament finishes, while once it's over, there can be various kinds of changes. And this will depend on what will have been worked out on a peacekeeping mission by that time," Gen. Romanenko said.
